Sayantan Maitra "Boka" was born in Kolkata and lives and works in Delhi, where he surdied at the School of Planning and Architecture. A designer and architect by training, he has been working in the art field predominantly as curator and show designer. His main interest is to take art out of dedicated, "white cube" spaces and closer to the smaller centres. By curating public art events, he aims to explore the way people react to the art works, particularly outside metropolitan areas and out of conventional spaces. He is also interested in new media art and interactive design.In 2011, "Boka" organised the Blooming Sikkim Public Art Festival and the Hornbill Public Art Festival in Nagaland.
