Born in Kolkata, M. Pravat holds a bachelor's and master's degree in painting from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He lives and works in Delhi and his production often deals with the "under construction" aspects of reality and life, both in a literal and metaphorical way. His interest in architecture has been a thread running through his work, informing creations such as oil paintings depicting home interiors or imaginary, reinvented blue prints.M Pravat's work has been shown in several collective and solo shows around the country and he has received the Pro Helvetia artist residency in Switzerland in 2010.
