George Martin's works are a spectral of luscious colour. He paints a magical view of the world around us, which appears to be spinning at a dizzying speed. His acrylic abstractions exuberate copious amounts of energy and are an ultimate representation of modern urban life. There are no limitations to colour or form in Martin's visual extravaganza; in a single canvas he is able to merge multiple cultures. However, when viewed more carefully, Martin's densely populated compositions resonate the transitory and disunited true nature of our world.
Martin's most recent solo shows include 'Objective Voice' Vadehra art gallery New Delhi (2009); 'Cavities' Palette Art Gallery, New Delhi (2008); 'Lost Article' Visual Art Gallery India Habitat Centre, New Delhi (2007). The artist has also participated in a number of group shows, the most recent being 'India awakens-Under the banyan tree' Essl Museum, Vienna, Austria (2010); 'SNOW' Palette art gallery, New Delhi, TAO art gallery Mumbai (2010); 'Hot Shot' The viewing Room, Mumbai (2009); 'Metamorphosis-change and continuity in Indian contemporary art' Phyllis, Weston, Annie Bolling gallery Cincinnati.USA (2009); Hong Kong art fair presented by Vadehra art gallery, India (2008).
