    Traditional Bollywood posters have become cult design objects and are collected the world over. But there is a particular type of movie poster that is largely ignored and has an aesthetic of its own: adult movie posters. With a visual language that is at times daring, at times naïf, these posters echo the kitsch imagery of Indian movie posters – but they also represent sex, a subject that is particularly taboo in India despite its many religious manifestations.

    What Happens in Mukteshwar is an exhibition that resulted from the first ever artists retreat organized by W+K Exp. The retreat took place earlier on in the year in the sylvan and mountainous region of Kumaon where the artists spent six days traversing through Mukteshwar and its surrounding areas.

    Curated by Adip Dutta, the exhibition Writing Visuals attempts to establish the relationship between writing and drawing. Just as writing is a mode of expression through language and the alphabet, drawing too has its own visual alphabet – such as line, form, symbols, motifs and sometimes even text. When these are creatively put together they create a sense of language –a visual language.

    W+K Exp presents a first-of-its-kind graffiti art exhibition, ‘Butterflies, Birds + Spray Cans’. In collaboration with British Council, the exhibition features works of one of the traditional urban art forms, aerosol art or graffiti art by prominent UK artist, Xenz aka Graeme Brusby, who is a major figure to emerge from the infamous Bristol street art scene.
